Waking up to kicks

Ate J and Ate C told me that I was laughing and speaking in my sleep again. I was laughing so hard, raising my hands and saying "pogi, pogi!" with the enthusiasm of a person who is... not sleeping.

I don't remember any of this. I can only guess that I was horseplaying with Sir_Ko in this dream. I love calling him "pogi" because oh my god, he really is the pogi-est man in the universe. What I do remember was waking up to some sort of nudging in different parts of my body. Apparently, TLO was looking at me while all the sleep laughing and giggling was happening. She probably got annoyed and kicked me until I woke up.

That was fun. :)

I saw these photos in Facebook and they tickled my heart to no end. I have an intense fear of growing old. When I imagine myself all wrinkled and gray, can barely walk, can barely make it to the toilet, I hyperventilate. My husband is the only variable that makes me open to the idea of returning to infant-hood functions in an old woman's body. For him, I think this is a passable and hopeful syndication of the first line of Robert Browning's poem.

Christmas In Our Hearts, In June

Last night, Phleymz, my playful friend from work, made a special request. She said that we should listen to Christmas hits. How do you say no to one of your mommy-wife-employee-beauty-kindness idols? Plus, W. said it's June-ber anyway. So I called Frank and we had fun.

Say whut?

A dear friend asks me at 7am, on my 17th hour of being awake, if I believe that this world is just a "made up" place. I got hit by a ginormous tide of blended theories and isms, I only managed to ask if she just smoked a joint. And wondered if she is a product of my imagination too.

The mind is such a vulnerable force. Now I just want to sit still and consume, and be consumed by, everything that I'm seeing, feeling and hearing. The elusive Senses Buffet just opened and I would love to please start with bittersweet dessert. Please?

But you know the only thing that's real for me in this supposedly ungodly hour? Lunch will not cook itself. So let me put a tiny dot at the end of this sentence before I imagine that this day is done and it's time for bed.

"Special" Feelings From "Finding Dory"

"Finding Dory" captured the ardent wishes of parents for their kids with special needs. For children with ASD To find love and care from strangers. For the little ones with down syndrome, cerebral palsy or ADHD to survive with minimal supervision. For the non-vocal, deaf, or blind, to find their courage, talents and strengths to be able to always come home, safe and whole. We wait and wait and wait for milestones and moments when they unlock their special gifts. And wish to have all the time and access to all possible resources to be able put shells in gaps where their minds and bodies' unique designs make it impossible to swim in the real ocean.

P.S. I think all parents have the same wishes. The level of fear and uncertainties vary though when your kid is a Dory, not a Nemo.

Multipurpose Nameplate

Marami na akong nagawang nameplate. Para sa sarili ko saka sa mga kapatid ko, para sa mga kaklase na hindi gustong mag-lettering, mag-gupit at mag-dikit, at saka siyempre para kay TLO rin. Pero espesyal itong nameplate na ito. Multipurpose. Sinamahan ko ng pronunciation guide. Naaawa kasi ako sa anak ko. Lampas dalawang linggo na siyang pumapasok, ang tawag pa rin sa kanya ay "KAT-LIN." E hindi naman niya maipagtatanggol ang sarili niyang pangalan, kaya sana gumana ito. Sana rin walang ma-offend. Libre ang uniporme sa school ni TLO. Kaya lang, kagaya ng developmental delays ng karamihan sa mga estudyante, delayed din ang pagdating ng supplies. Ang sabi ng mga nanay, lola, tiyahin at teachers sa eskuwela, mga August pa raw dumarating ang uniporme. In fairness naman, twice a year ang bigayan, total of 4 sets of uniforms. Puwedeng puwede na talaga sa jackpot, kaya lang dapat daw naka-uniform na si TLO sa Lunes kaya kinarir namin ang paghahanap. Hindi ko alam kung saan ka manggagaling pero sana makatulong sa iyo itong address ng suking tindahan at saka link sa mapa.
